A Professional Year Program is an organized professional growth program combining formal education and workplace knowledge and experience for international students who have graduated from a university in Australia. Professional Year (PY) Program is a course for 12 months and are currently accessible in the areas of accounting, computer science and engineering — Australian industries where the demand for skilled graduates is high.
The program is composed for 44 weeks with 12-week internship settlement with an appropriate host company. The successful conclusion of the program also makes international students eligible to obtain five extra points on the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) ‘points test’ when applying for a Skilled Independent (subclass 189) visa.
