A Professional Year Program is an organized professional growth program combining formal education and workplace knowledge and experience for international students who have graduated from a university in Australia. Professional Year (PY) Program is a course for 12 months and are currently accessible in the areas of accounting, computer science and engineering — Australian industries where the demand for skilled graduates is high.

The program is composed for 44 weeks with 12-week internship settlement with an appropriate host company. The successful conclusion of the program also makes international students eligible to obtain five extra points on the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) ‘points test’ when applying for a Skilled Independent (subclass 189) visa.

• Copy of your 485 Skilled Graduate Visa

Eligibility Criteria

• International graduates aged 18 to 45, who have acquired an Australian qualification as a result of at least two years of study in Australia in the Accounting field.
• Candidates must hold a Skilled Graduate Visa 485 or be waiting to have their 485 visa approved.

ACCOUNTING PROFESSIONAL YEAR PROGRAM

This program is established for overseas students who have an Australian accounting degree, gain understanding of Australian values, culture, ethics, principles and expectations. Accounting PYP is developed by CPA Australia. It is conveyed by listed providers who have been permitted by the professional accounting bodies.

It consists of at least 44 weeks’ training, as well as 32 weeks classroom study and 12-weeks internship settlement providing valuable work experience and knowledge in an approved Australian workplace finalizing relevant accounting errands. Positive conclusion of this program may entice additional points under the GSM points test.

ACS PROFESSIONAL YEAR PROGRAM

Professional Year is a program designed by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) to support international students graduated from Australia, achieve employment in their chosen field by gaining the necessary skills. It benefits the students to boost their career prospects, interview techniques, develop an understanding in Australian workplace, also helps to gain valuable work experience by completing an internship in ICT and qualify for migration points towards permanent residence.

It involves 44 weeks’ training as well as 32 weeks classroom study and 12-weeks internship settlement providing valuable work experience and knowledge in the related field.

ENGINEERING PROFESSIONAL YEAR PROGRAM

This PYP is developed by Engineering Education Australia (EEA). This Professional Year in Engineering-EEA, will teach you everything you must know to be familiar about working in Australia and give you a well-respected Australian resume.

The Professional Year in engineering course is a comprehensive program that will get you ready to work as an engineer in Australia. It carries on for 44 weeks, giving you time to learn about the prospects of employers, of what they want, begin building your network, and create a strategy for career triumph. The first 32 weeks consist of online study and classroom workshops, followed by 12 weeks of work placement at a professional organization.
